>>>>> EVENT POSTPONED <<<<<
The Moon Ceremony Throughout the ages, many cultures have recognized and honored the spiritual essence of the Divine Mother. The initiatory Moon Ceremony shared by Agni Jaya Starfire is an oral tradition said to date back 40,000 years. A ‘keeper’ of this tradition, Agni Jaya has been sharing this ceremony with others for over 25 years. Brought to her by her teacher, OhShinnah Fast Wolf, the ceremony awakens each participant’s inner connection to the Divine Mother in any of her many forms. Agni Jaya will teach us the protocol, how to build a sacred fire, how to make prayer bundles, and how to speak and release your prayers. Kashi is preparing a sacred fire circle for us just outside our teaching space. It is a rare and sacred honor to be able to participate in an original Moon Ceremony.
Kali Natha Yoga is moving prayer, a yoga of transformation that awakens the heart of devotion. Kali Natha Yoga is deeply spiritual in nature, designed to enable the practitioner to experience oneness and achieve a state of union with their Beloved. Ramani Vaught will lead us in Kali Natha Yoga each afternoon. The classes will ignite your spiritual passion and awareness. Classes are suitable for beginners and students of all physical abilities.
The Medicine Wheel is Sun Bear’s unique vision to “draw people into a better relationship with the earth and all the other beings upon her.” (The Medicine Wheel) Agni Jaya Charlotte Starfire apprenticed the teachings of the medicine wheel and other sacred ceremonies directly from Sun Bear. Several years ago, she was invited by Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati to build a Medicine Wheel at Kashi to honor Earth Traditions. Agni Jaya will introduce the principles of the Medicine Wheel and guide us in a healing circle within the wheel, using chanting, drumming, rattling, and shamanic visualization to renew and heal this life, past and future. Practices like this connect us to, and honor, our Oneness with ALL Life.
The Labyrinth is “an ancient mystical tool that can help us prepare ourselves for the ‘transformation of human personality in progress’ and accomplish ‘a shift in consciousness… It connects us to the depths of our souls so we can remember who we are.” (Walking a Sacred Path). The labyrinth at Kashi is a classic medieval 11-circuit Chartres Cathedral model. Janet will teach how to enter the labyrinth as “a birth canal…the Womb of the Divine Mother” (The Sacred Path Companion) and receive her wisdom for yourself.
Diwali Festival is an ancient Hindu festival celebrated in autumn. One of the most significant festivals in India ~ also known as the Festival of Lights ~ it’s a five-day celebration that includes good food, fireworks, colored sand, and special candles and lamps. The festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness or good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed. People wear new clothes or their best outfits as the evening approaches, and the goddess Lakshmi is honored along with other deities such as Ganesha, Saraswati, and Kubera depending on the region of India. Lakshmi symbolizes wealth and prosperity, and her blessings are invoked for a good year ahead.
