A whole new kind of forecast for 2026

Week 50--in which we wonder what the astrology of 2026 has in store for us

Beautiful Ones,

I have offered subscribers the opportunity to register for the next year’s astrology forecast for…let me think…a decade! How wild is that. I, who am so not an astrologer, have created a deep dive forecast for you ever since I was floored by the intensity of a personal astrology reading in 2014.

I knew next to nothing about astrology, but I thought it would be a fun and meaningful way to celebrate turning 66 in 2014. A friend recommended an astrologer in North Carolina, George Ward.

George was very kind. He recognized immediately that I knew nothing, not even the glyphs. Instead of skimming over things for this newbie, he slowly, patiently, explained what a natal chart is, taught me the glyphs, talked about the meaning and powers of each planet, and explained the layout of the chart.

Although I didn’t know he was using anything special at the time, I now know he was using a very sophisticated chart with three layers: natal, transit, and progressed. Talk about diving in! Luckily, I frantically took notes. I still treasure his original chart with my little scribbled labels and the ten pages of notes I took as he talked.

As George was finishing, he suddenly raised his voice—or at least that’s how I remember it—and semi-shouted: “Do you see Saturn?” I stared at the chart until I found the glyph that looks to me like a chair. I said, yes, I see Saturn. Next, he shouted: “Do you see Jupiter?” I had to hunt for the one that looks like a big fat 4 but eventually I found Jupiter.

George proclaimed: “In ten years, you will be doing a level of work that today you cannot even imagine.”

I was too stunned to say anything. I thought I knew what I’d be doing in the next few years. I had two more books to write to complete a 5-book set. And I had plans to teach six courses every year. And a weekly radio show to produce. I could understand all that. I could imagine it. I could see it. Shoot, I had all the dates marked on a massive wall calendar that loomed over my computer.

How could I do something that I could not even imagine, never mind plan.

I didn’t know what that unimaginable work could possibly be, but I knew one thing: the world needs astrology!

So I immediately began to offer private astrology readings with George for the members of my then year-long program. And I asked George if I could host him for a 2015 forecast on Epiphany, January 6. Dozens of you came to that first annual forecast.

That was the beginning of what turned out to be a decade of forecasts.

George died in 2015 which forced me to rethink the forecast. Over the next five years, I invited different astrologers to give us a forecast, but the forecasts were always just a couple hours on a day in January.

That one-day, couple-hour forecast with one astrologer worked well. Until it didn’t.

My friend and personal depth numerologist Emma Kupu Mitchell was becoming a deep student of astrology, and with her help I invited an array of astrologers including Gemini Brett and Marcia Wade to create a deeper and more varied forecast.

Then, along came 2020 and suddenly a one-day forecast seemed way too small for the moment.

From 2021 on, the forecast kept growing and growing until last year it spread out over the entire year with the addition of live Q&As that really helped us feel into the moment.

  • Consider 3i/Atlas for example.
No astrologer could have foreseen that interstellar object suddenly appearing on a new camera in Chili on July 1.
  • Or Pluto going out of bounds in August.
That might have been foreseen by astrologers, but it wasn’t until it happened, that we were able to feel into how that massive shift in the cosmos was affecting us.

Last month, as it was approaching time to offer the 2026 forecast, I felt it was time for another change. A really big one.

I felt it was time for me to let the reins of the forecast fall out of my hands.

Although I love astrology and take every class Emma Kupu Mitchell offers, it’s still accurate to say that I am not an astrologer. A devotee of, perhaps, but not a teacher, not a guide.

So I turned to Emma, who has now studied astrology with over a dozen great astrologers from a wide variety of systems and styles, and I asked her to take the reins.

Maybe I was mirroring George a little bit; inviting Emma to do something that until that moment she had not imagined.

Being the brilliant creative soul that she is, Emma pondered the possibilities and last week announced that she was crafting a new kind of forecast that isn’t a forecast at all. She’s calling it Ignite Change which is inspired by all the planets in fire and air signs next year. 2026 is going to move fast, creating or igniting change in big ways. Ways that we cannot even imagine! (I think George would like that.)

Ignite Change brings together many of Emma’s great loves and talents:

  • natural wheel of the year
  • Pythagorean numerology (It’s a 1 year)
  • practical shamanic and elemental astrology and how to feel them in your body
  • indigenous Hawaiian knowledge and moon astrology
  • plant medicine
  • conversations with Western and non-Western astrologers
  • gentle meditation
  • discussions on how we can live the celestial wisdom from different cultures and different mystical systems

And, offering everything in living community so we can learn not just from Emma and her guests, but from one another.

Oh, and there will be one other big very fun addition.

Cathy Stevens Pratt, who is a mystic artist, oracle, tarot-whisperer, and my partner in creating The Witch Sequence, will help us Ignite Change by contributing her unique oracular wisdom. And I’ll be there offering self-reflection in deep soul writing.

In other words, it’s a mystical feast! Not a forecast, a feast!

And you are invited. There will be four gatherings that mirror the energy of the four seasons. Everything will be recorded live and available all year in Emma’s website’s library. And of course there will be gifts, because Emma always offers additional information and gifts.

All this for $55. Emma is keeping the registration fee low so everyone can come. (But notice: 55 is  a 10/1, the same numerology as 2026.)

The first gathering is Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 10a Hawaii, 12 pm Pacific, 1p Mountain, 2p Central. 3p Eastern, 8p UK and Sunday morning in the Pacific Rim.

Future gatherings may be on different days based on her special guests’ availability and the input of the members.

Life is fragile, handle with reverence, and change!

PS: By the way, George was right. I am today doing a level of work that I could never, ever, have imagined in 2014!

Thank you Saturn, Jupiter, and George!
