2022 the year we learn to listen to love
Week 6--in which we fasten our seatbelts because February is the tipping point
Friends, soul writers, mystics, and lovers of prayer,
In last Sunday’s Notes from the Field, I talked about the impact Pluto is having on the planet as he marches across the United State’s natal chart to his exact position on the birthday of this country.
You don’t have to be an American to be impacted. When America falters, the globe shakes. Think of the global financial crisis in 2008 that was triggered by the greed of a handful of US banks.
People seem to be having one of two reactions to Pluto’s momentous return—the first in 248 years.
No one knows what will happen. But people are either slightly terrified or covering their ears in the I-don’t-want-to-think-about-it camp.
During a planning session with Rabbi Tirzah Firestone and Emma Kupu Mitchell, who shares celestial news in all my intensives, I asked Emma what happened to other countries when Pluto crashed their birthday party. Emma got a funny look on her face and said, well there’s Spain. And Portugal.
I thought oh good, we can get some advance recognizance. So what happened? I asked. I could tell Emma didn’t really want to answer. WelI, she sighed, there was insurrection, revolution, chaos, and radical change.
Tirzah and I looked at one another and knew that we absolutely, positively, have to offer this unusual prayer event called Reckonings. Not to heap more panic on the story, but to do exactly the opposite.
Our sacred desire is to bring a community together in prayer and ritual to acknowledge what wants to be acknowledged and commit to doing our part to birth a more loving, inclusive world—a world that makes truth, justice, safety, beauty, and love visible—for all.
Prayer matters. Prayer is alive. Prayer changes the energy in the field.
Tirzah and Emma and I are confident that if a critical mass of souls holds this sacred intention and steps forward to do the honest work of acknowledging what patriarchy has done to the people of this land, and commits to sacred healing, then Pluto will have done his part to wake us up.
This will be the third special prayer and ritual event with Rabbi Tirzah and Emma.
Each one a wakeup call.
Over 100 of you came to each of the previous events and have a lovely sense of what powerful and sacred women Tirzah and Emma are. But some of you don’t know Emma.
So I asked Emma to write you a personal note about the master planet of transmutation—Pluto.
PLUTO—a planet to pay attention to
a few thoughts on Pluto’s transit
by elemental astrologer Emma Kupu Mitchell
Pluto is a small dwarf planet that packs a “mighty punch.” Pluto is perhaps not one of the favorite planets in our Solar System. Like Saturn, Pluto is often feared and dreaded.
The description and archetypes around Pluto say it all: Ruler of the Underworld, Destroyer, Transformer. Pluto brings us the energies of life, death, and rebirth. Notice that death is followed by rebirth, but most people think only of the death part of the equation when they think of Pluto. Hence the fear.
When Pluto is front and center in the “celestial news,” as he is right now, it’s a call to action for all of us, particularly in the areas of deep shadow work, revealing opportunities for the unseen and unconscious to become Visible and Seen and Recognized.
In my personal astrology studies over the last 8 years, there have been two sayings that really stick with me, especially when we are experiencing Pluto transits:
- What's going on in the celestial skies is also going on inside of you
- As above so below; as without so within
Which I loosely translate to: NOTHING IS SEPARATE. We are all INTERCONNECTED.
Everything is energy, and so are we, and so are the planets.
We each have a choice of what we do with this energy. The more aware we are of what's going on in the celestial skies with the planets, the greater the opportunities we have to integrate these higher energies (rather than the lower), make conscious and positive changes in our lives, and be able to navigate the external chaos from a place of awareness and truth.
That's why Janet, Rabbi Tirzah, and I decided to come together with each of you and offer this very special event on the first of three major experiences of Pluto’s transit across the natal chart of the United States. The event is called Reckonings: Pluto Returns! Part 1 The Myth of America.
I believe we all chose to incarnate at this time on our planet for a reason. And our planet, along with each of us, is going through HUGE shifts. Never before experienced times of CHANGE are arriving.
And February is the TIPPING POINT.
It’s a fasten-your-seat-belt kind of month that will initiate deep transformation for the next few years.
This is a time to gather in prayer in community. In the “Theatre of the Miraculous, we can support one another and navigate the higher energies at play, and align with Pluto for alchemy and rebirth on a personal level, and also for our planet and the generations that follow.
I look forward to connecting with you all on Sunday, February 20 for a journey of a lifetime!
We will gather on Sunday, February 20 at 2pm Eastern, a time that works well for most of the globe. The event will be recorded and available on a password-protected resource page the next day.
Rabbi Tirzah, Emma, and I are heeding the call to gather once more in sacred community to hold hands and support one another in the necessary and holy work of Reckoning.
- We will acknowledge our ancestor’s roles and our own role in creating the world we have.
- We will listen to their voices of sorrow and strength.
- We will open our hands to receive their gifts and requests.
- And together, we will ask to be shown what each of us can do to help create the world that wants to be born.
