Mother Moon Yoga
AWAKEN THE LIVING PRESENCE OF THE FEMININE DIVINE WITHIN
What is Mother Moon Yoga?
Mother Moon Yoga is a re-remembering, a re-birthing, a re-aligning with the original mystical essence of yoga. Yoga as we know it in the West has become very masculinized with an emphasis on strength and physical performance. But at its origin, yoga was and is a sacred communion with The Goddess, The Mother. Yoga at its heart is simply prayer. It is breath. It is gentle organic dance. Original yoga is a hymn your body sings in response to the sacred rhythms of life, of Mother Earth, and of our sweet Mother Moon.
There is nothing quite like Mother Moon Yoga. It brings together not only the sacred lineages of multiple forms of yoga, but also the astrological wisdom of the Moon, the gifts of full body anointing, the ancient vibrations of the hymns and mantras of our ancestors, all coming together to be integrated in the sacred practice of deep soul writing.
Together, these mystical practices awaken the living presence of the Feminine Divine within waiting for expression in and through and as you.
Why is this unique practice so important and necessary right now?
It’s not an accident that Janet received such a clear call to create this unique multi-dimensional yoga/prayer practice during the crescendo of a global pandemic. We have never experienced such a multitude of chaos and change on all fronts. There is nothing more important right now than deep, embodied, ancestral, mystical practice. The time to rebirth ourselves and our relationship with Mother Earth is NOW!
Ramani Shiva Vaught, who will be leading us in September, asked this very question in deep soul writing and received this clear and sacred response from the Mother:
“It is time to be seen, heard, and felt, my children. This Earth and her beings have struggled much as programs of fear, lack, power over, and hierarchy have predominated. Out of the shadows comes the full light of my moon to shine where darkness has hidden the gifts of the Mother. She rises, the Mother rises. Just as the Moon rises every night, so too your Mother rises within every being.
Those who choose to be in this practice have already opened the door to what can be. I am here within you always Dancing the Dance upon the Earth at this time. Destruction-Creation-Destruction-Creation. Do not get caught in a web of attachment. Dance gently and softly, yet fiercely, confronting the ego's sabotaging ways of manipulating and pulling you back into the web.
You are strong my children and you are ready. You are never alone; my love surrounds and encompasses you always. When the doubts come, plant your feet firmly on Mother Earth (envision this if you cannot be outside) and feel the light of My love growing within your heart cave with each breath, and then extending out filling you, enlightening every cell of your body and extending out through your energy field. Because my children, we are one.”
Mother Moon Yoga meets at 7:00-8:48 pm Eastern (6 central, 5 mountain, 4 pacific, 1 Hawaii, wee hours in Europe and the following morning in the Pacific Rim).
We meet on the EVE of the dark or full moon because the eve is the moment we meet the full potency of the particular lunar cycle.
Every time zone experiences a moon phase sequentially, so we are going to use the time of the actual Dark or Full Moon in Hawaii.
Please note: the live Mother Moon Yoga experience is recorded and available by 1pm eastern the following day so you can repeat the experience in the preferred time in your time zone and also so that you can re-experience it multiple times throughout the 3-day phase just as your ancestors did.
Our Mother Moon Yoga gatherings are 108 minutes long:
- Janet opens our gathering with an ancient hymn to the moon
- Zeny leads us in a Sanskrit Water Mantra to bless our Mother Moon Yoga water
- Emma creates sacred space with sound and our special anointing oil
- Janet leads us in a moon and sun anointing
- Emma shares the mystical wisdom of the moon in her esoteric Chandra symbol
- Our Yoga Guide leads us through an asana to help us embody the wisdom of the moon
- We integrate our experiences in savasana and deep soul writing with theta music

Namaste and Welcome to Mother Moon Yoga. I am excited to share with you my part in this beautiful synergistic program. As the world continues to shift and change in unpredictable ways, it is ever more important to turn within and find our inner sense of security, stability, and connection to something greater than ourselves. It is time for us to once again, trust our intuition, and our bodies, and for our voices to be heard and our light to be seen.
Through our movement and yoga practices we will reconnect with and embody our feminine strength, creativity, dreaming, playfulness, and courage. We will find stability in revitalizing our relationship with our bodies, with Mother Earth, and with the many forms of the Feminine Divine energy. We will activate those qualities and abilities within us that help us move through these chaotic times and develop a kinder, more inclusive, world where all are valued and respected.
I find great joy in sharing the synthesis of my experiences, learnings, knowledge, and wisdom so that together we may rise and be more than our individual parts, creating a sustainable, loving future for all. I am a 500-hour yoga instructor in the lineage of Kali Natha Yoga, taught by Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati—a yoga that is accessible to all, encourages listening to and trusting our bodies, and brings opportunities for expanded awareness and profound healing. My love for Mother Earth is deep and life-long and my relationship with her has expanded through my studies with Oh Shinnah Fastwolf and AnnA Kyleah. I am a licensed massage therapist from the Bhakti School of Intuitive Massage & Healing. My own children and the many infants and families that I have worked with over the years in the NICU have provided a fertile ground for recognizing and honoring the many forms of communication we have access to and the importance of holding a space of love and non-judgement so that all may thrive. In Mother Moon Yoga I invite you to open to your own Feminine Divine Nature, allowing her to guide your way.
Zeny is a Yogini, Musician, Sound Healer and Ayurveda Teacher. With a mixed heritage that includes Indian and Filipino, Zeny was raised in a culturally and spiritually diverse home. Her first yoga experience was listening to her mom chanting “Om” when she was a child.
Zeny has traveled extensively in India, studying Classical Hatha Yoga, Shaivist and Shakti Tantra, Mantra and Ayurveda. She is certified at the highest level recognized by Yoga Alliance as a Yoga Teacher Trainer, conducting 200 and 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings and Tantric Mentorship programs through her school Hawaii School of Yoga. She has been fortunate to learn from many great Gurus notably Mataji Sri Lalithambika, a lineage holder of Sri Vidya in south India, Guru Karunamaya, His Holiness Swami Rhambau, and Russil Paul author of the book The Yoga of Sound. In January 2020, Zeny was formally initiated as an Acharya in Ganeshpuri, India by Swami Khecharanatha into Kundalini Sadhana under the lineage of Bhagavan Nithyananda.
Inspired by one of India’s greatest Yogi’s, Sri Aurobindo, who was the first to say “All Life is Yoga”, Zeny promotes the yogic way of life, not just the practice on the mat. Her personal practice involves meditating and chanting daily, playing music, studying sacred scripture, teaching yoga classes, and most importantly Seva. Zeny and her husband support an orphanage for girls in south India through their singing bowl business Shakti Vibronics.
With a passion for sacred music, Zeny plays the piano, harp, harmonium, tanpura, and Indian singing bowls. And her main instrument is her voice. She has a gift for Sanskrit chanting and conducts kirtan and chanting sessions all over Oahu. She is also studying Music Engineering with Berklee College of Music.
In her free time, Zeny enjoys spending time at the beach with her family and cooking Indian food, cauliflower pakoras are a particular favorite!
Our Moon Goddess
Aloha! I’m Emma Kupu Mitchell, your Soul Medicine Artist. I have been a practitioner of holistic therapies for over 30 years, including clinical Aromatherapy, Plant Medicine, Ayurveda, Depth Numerology, Elemental Astrology with an emphasis on the Moon, Yoga Nidra, and Sound Healing. I use my extensive knowledge of ancient healing practices to create unique sound-infused sacred anointing oils and tinctures.
My passion lies in elemental and shamanic astrology (particularly the lunar/moon wisdom) bringing the vibrations and ancient mysteries of the celestial skies down to earth and interweaving these teachings in a unique approach with depth numerology through the lineage of Pythagoras. My current astrology teachers with whom I’ve been studying with for the last 4 years and want to honor are Donna Woodwell, Tyler Penor, Marcia Wade and Hali Karla. My intention is to demystify and share these teachings with you in practical ways and invite you to embody these wisdoms into your every day to create greater health, harmony and alignment in all areas of your life!
Our Prayer Artist
Janet Conner is a prayer artist, deep soul explorer, field guide in The Mystic, and mistress of the mystical theta brain wave state—the threshold between worlds. But first and always, Janet is a devoted daughter of the Feminine Divine and Original Prayer. Put it all together and you can see why many consider Janet a 21st century wise and wonder-filled witch.
Her first book, Writing Down Your Soul, became a bestseller, followed by The Lotus and The Lily, Soul Vows, Find Your Soul’s Purpose and more. When “Prayer Artist” came calling, Janet found herself writing a whole new genre of prayer, redefining prayer altogether, and leading radical prayer intensives with fellow female mystics. She launched the Praying at the Speed of Love podcast to host intimate conversations with authors about their private prayer lives. Although she can hear the trees in the Hudson River Valley whispering her name, for now Janet lives with silence, solitude, and joy in the tiny town of Ozona, Florida on the Gulf of Mexico.
