Week 17--in which we pray

Beautiful Ones,

I am overjoyed to announce that today Sunday April 27 is opening day for Her Council of Love Global Prayer Practice. My creative partner, Cathy Stevens Pratt, and I have been listening to what wants to be created and bringing it to life for several weeks.

Because my zoom can only hold 100 people, I can’t invite all of you to the opening ceremony today. I sent invitations to members of my intensives in The Witch Sequence. There will be other live gatherings in the future. But you can still be a part of this precious first day because the page for Her Council of Love is ready. On it you will find the prayer video, PDFs of the prayer content, the image Cathy painted, and a few background videos to tell the story of the prayer.

When Cathy and I started looking for the best day to initiate this healing prayer, we felt it should be a Sunday. But which Sunday? I wondered if April 27 was a New Moon. Well, not only is today a New Moon, but it’s a New Moon at 7° 46’ in Taurus, an earth sign. That feels perfect for a prayer to heal the world. Plus, if you know a bit about astrology, Venus, the Goddess, is the guardian of Taurus. And, this entire prayer is centered on a special form of the Goddess, Lady Freedom.

I wanted to know more, so I opened Ellias Lonsdale’s Inside Degrees and read the Chandra for Taurus 8 (round up), thinking this cosmic message might have some guidance not just for this moment in time, but for the entire lunar cycle until May 26.

I read this Chandra once, twice, three times. It feels like this Oracle captures the foment and chaos we are living. It clarifies for me why this is the moment to pray.

A very complicated hedge maze

Self-confounding. Fascinated, you are engrossed by the fabulous dis-attunement you seem to be stuck with. Suspended, enchanted, held fast by ancient errors, rendered safe or innocuous. Being held down by an old curse and not being able to find any way out of it. Nothing comes together.

Meanwhile, you are entertained by myriad factors as diversions, living out secondary circuits, trying to be content. You’re good at reality adjustment, practiced in the art of making it work somehow, but deeply frustrated, profoundly alienated, and existentially doubting just about everything in sight.

Waiting as patiently as you can for something to shift somewhere, anywhere. And becoming quite witty and bemused, with a biting edge that says, “it is not funny.”

In the opening ceremony, we will:

• Talk about the prayer, how we pray it, and why it’s so important at this moment in time
• Introduce Lady Freedom and Her Council of Love image
• Pray together for 10 minutes
• Have some time for questions and sharing

It will be recorded and posted on the prayer’s page by mid afternoon Monday. There will be more opportunities to pray live together.

Welcome to Her Council of Love prayer practice

You are greeted by Lady Freedom standing watch on top of the Capitol dome. She is referred to as The Statue of Freedom by the park service, but when Cathy and I looked at her in all her magnificence, we knew her real name is Lady Freedom.

Her Council of Love:

• The first video is ten minutes of just the prayer itself. I made slides so you can pray along. Come back and watch the video as often as you want. And please invite friends to join you.
• Below the prayer video you can print out Global Prayer Practice, a 2-page PDF of the prayer that includes some instructions. You can also print a 1-page with just the two spoken parts of the prayer and the image.
• Next we included a link to Cathy’s website, Her Sacred Image, so you can purchase an 8 x 8 print of the image. We will be praying for weeks, probably months, so you’ll want to have this magnificent image at arm’s length. Just glancing at it will set Lady Freedom’s love in motion.
• We are recording the opening ceremony today and it will be available in this section on Monday.

There you will find:

• The Story Behind with Cathy and me, and Freddy Gerow and Archangel Luci. It’s QUITE the story! Be sure to watch right to the end when Archangel Luci tells us the deeper meaning behind this prayer.
• I also recorded a video with Kahu Lāhela Johnson who walks us through a brief history of Hana I Ka Pono which is born of the ancient Hawaiian Shamanic prayer of forgiveness, Ho‘oponopono. Then, Lāhela teaches us the version designed for Her Council of Love, walking us through it slowly, sentence by sentence, adding breath and movement. It’s a powerful prayer. It’s wise to take the time to learn it.
• When you watch the recording of just the prayer, you are welcomed by three very special Crystal Tones Alchemy singing bowls played by Jennifer DeVille Catalano. During the 5-minute silent gazing portion of the prayer, Jennifer droned the bowls. (Or more accurately, they asked to support us with their subtle singing.) Jennifer recorded a delightful video introducing those three bowls. That bonus will be available for viewing in the Background Videos section on Monday.
