Ring in the Light: Inaugural Crystal Alchemy Bowl event
2024 a year of sacred memory, dreaming dragons, and original prayer
Week 51--in which we realize that singing bowls and astrology do the same thing!
Friends, soul writers, mystics, witches, and lovers of prayer,
My plan for today was simply to invite you to join the first ever Ring in the Light Crystal Alchemy singing bowl concert coming to you next Saturday, December 28 with Jennifer DeVille Catalano. You do not want to miss this!
I and all my friends in the Lotus and the Lily and Witch Sequence prayer intensives have experienced the magical transformation that happens as we are bathed in the vibration of these bowls. So I wanted you to have that experience as well.
But it turns out there is more to this invitation.
Much more. Things I didn’t realize when I first asked Jennifer to create it.
Jennifer and her bowls are a magical and essential element in the big work we are doing in all The Witch Sequence intensives. If you’ve read about any of the seven ART prayer intensives in the sequence, you know that we Awaken, Remember, and Trust (A.R.T.) one of our seven sacramental WitchArt gifts as we walk the seven circuits of the most ancient and deeply feminine labyrinth.
In order to understand the profundity of this invitation, and give you a sense for what you could experience, I need to explain how I first discovered Jennifer and her bowls.
The story begins in April 2023, when I first began to notice the relationship of our WitchArt gifts and the original labyrinth. I had just opened a very fun intensive on Full Body Intuition with some of my favorite mystics who taught us how to see what our eyes do not see, hear what our ears do not hear, and so on through the senses.
We were two weeks into the intensive when I began to realize that we have more gifts than intuition. Turns out we have seven. And—this was shocking—those gifts match not only the chakras, they also match the pathways of the seven-circuit labyrinth.
I was flabbergasted and needed to know more about the seven-circuit labyrinth.
Now, there are a gazillion books on labyrinths, but I have found two that really delve into the long-forgotten mysteries of this most ancient labyrinth.
The book that first shook my world is Sig Lonegren’s Labyrinths: Ancient Myths and Modern Uses. I read this book (originally published in 1991) and insisted everyone connected with that intensive read it.
Although I didn’t understand what was happening or why this book would turn out to be so important, I sensed it was awakening something we knew thousands of years ago. Something we somehow never fully forgot.
As I devoured Sig’s book, I stumbled upon something amazing: the labyrinth has a song!
A song? Turns out each of the seven circuits plus the center resonate with a particular note. Eight notes in all. You can hear that song if you play the notes in an odd way. You might think you play the notes in the order that you walk the circuits, starting at the opening at the bottom. But no. You play the notes as you see the circuits, starting at the middle of the outside circuit and then slowly moving across the labyrinth (as if it had an equator line) until you reach the center, where you play the eighth note, and then repeat the notes in reverse as you exit to the right.
I had to hear this! So I asked Jennifer DeVille Catalano if she could play the Song of the Labyrinth on her Crystal Alchemy Singing Bowls. It was an experiment. No one knew what that Song might sound like.
So we created a Song of the Labyrinth experience.
Everyone got warm and comfy on yoga mats, closed our eyes, and Jennifer played the 8 notes. When she reached the center, she continued to play, but now she began to follow the guidance of the bowls themselves. Jennifer played what the bowls wanted to say. It was unlike anything I or anyone had heard before. We felt we had entered a Carnegie Hall concert somewhere in the cosmos! When the bowls were complete, Jennifer played the notes of the Song of the Labyrinth once again, this time in order from the center to the furthest circuit.
It was magical. We were transformed, although none of us could have explained how.
We just knew we were different. Cleaner. Clearer. We were simultaneously empty and full.
So now Jennifer plays the Song of the Labyrinth at the opening and closing ceremonies for all The Witch Sequence events. (Stay tuned for a massive sale on the ART events 1-4 and an invitation to ART 5 on divination coming in March,)
When we reached the third week in The Lotus and the Lily, which is a deep experience of forgiveness so we can create space for the life that wants to be lived in 2025, I asked Jennifer if she could create a singing bowl event to let the sacred sounds release what wants to be released. She did. And once again, something happened. We were emptied. Transformed. It was magical.
As the event was ending, I asked Jennifer if the bowls would like to create a Solstice event for everyone, whether they’ve been in the ART or Lotus intensives or not. Luckily they said yes.
And the bowls named it: Ring in the Light.
If you’re interested in the numerology, that’s an 88. Which reduces to 16, the tower falling to mark the end of patriarchy, and the master number of 7, divinity.
So now you know the story behind the first ever Ring in the Light event.
It’s next Saturday, December 28 at 2p Eastern.
2pm Eastern works for half the globe from 9a in Hawaii to 9p in Eastern Europe and 8a Sunday morning in New Zealand. We anticipate the event will be 90 minutes perhaps a bit more. (It will be recorded so don’t be concerned if you can’t be with us live.)
The event is hosted by Cathy Stevens Pratt. Here's the link to register. It's just $19.
So my plan for today’s newsletter was to invite you to Jennifer’s Crystal Alchemy Singing Bowls event.
But, it turns out, there’s more to this invitation than I realized. In the middle of the night, I was awakened with a massive AHA.
Turns out it’s not an accident that we will be listening to those bowls just as the intense astrology of 2025 is beginning.
The 2025 Forecast with cosmythologist Marcia Wade and shamanic astrologer and depth numerologist Emma Kupu Mitchell is now available.
- In the first recording, they talk about every personal planet going retrograde from now through Spring.
- In the second, things get ever wilder, with everything—I mean everything—changing.
As they talked, I realized that Cathy Stevens Pratt had somehow captured everything that is unfolding in the cosmos in the first mystical portrait of a year.
I talk about it in the forecast, but here’s the short version: throughout 2025, we are in a colloidal condition, a state of suspension and transformation. When the colloid ends, we are different. Our consciousness has changed. So while other astrologers are using some rather apocalyptic language about 2025, be not afraid! we are in a simultaneous dying and birthing moment.
That is exactly what happens when we rest in the surround sound of the Crystal Alchemy bowls!
We release and when we wake, we are made new.
Although I can take no credit for orchestrating the timing of these two alchemical events, they are indeed singing the same song. The song of transformation. So I encourage you to do both.
Watch the forecast AND listen to the bowls. They are two facets of the same process.
For myself, I’m going to watch the forecast next week before the concert. Then bring whatever has surfaced during the forecast to the Ring in the Light event on Saturday, letting the bowls do their holy work to prepare me to embrace the call of 2025.
What a perfect way to enter 2025
- a year like no other
- welcomed by a concert like no other
- depicted by a portrait like no other
- described in a forecast like no other
A perfect solstice season don't you think!
