Week 42--in which we embrace the call to harvest the last nine years so we can seed MAGIC in the next nine.

As promised in last Sunday’s Notes from the Field, registration for The Lotus and the Lily to Harvest 2025 and Seed 2026 is now open to my entire subscriber list.

From the very beginning, The Lotus and the Lily has been a totally surprising mystical experience for me and for thousands who have joined past intensives or read the book and created mystic mandalas on their own.

But for those just discovering me or considering joining Lotus and Lily for the first time, I tell the strange story behind the intensive on the Registration page (link below).

I’ve told this story for the last 17 years and without fail, every time I revisit it, I am shocked.

Did this really happen?

• On January 1, 2010, facing bankruptcy, did I really toss out all the law of attraction teachings I had absorbed for years when I read in a little Thich Nhat Hanh book that the Buddha said: “When conditions are sufficient there is a manifestation.”
• Did I really run around the room screaming: It’s NOT about the manifestation! It’s about the CONDITIONS!
• Did I really pick up a pen to ask the only question that mattered: Well, what are my conditions?
• Did I really trace a dinner plate on a piece of paper, draw a lily in the center, write one of my conditions on each petal, and pin it to the wall?
• Did I wake up on January 2, stand in front of that mandala, and repeat my six conditions out loud, stating I would pay attention ONLY to how I commit to live that day and NOT on all the things I needed so desperately.
• Did I really do that every day in January? Every day? Without fail?
• When I finally got to the see the bankruptcy attorney in February, did he really escort me to the door when I told him how much money I made in January?

Even as I type this up, I start giggling. Because, yes, crazy as it all sounds, it all happened just that way.

Seventeen years later, I still lead a Lotus and Lily intensive every November and December.

When Prayer Artist arrived in 2018, I announced I would no longer teach my books to make room for prayer intensives. I was inundated with emails that said, that’s fine, you can do that, but NOT LOTUS! NOT LOTUS! And I agreed. Everyone loves and need Lotus, including me.

So what do we do that’s so amazing?

1. We look back at the year ending to harvest its gifts and discoveries. Looking back is the necessary foundation before we can even think about welcoming anything new.
2. We identify what is too small for us to carry into the next year.
3. We forgive and forgive and forgive some more, cleansing and clearing our bodies and our spirits to create space for the life that wants to be lived.
4. And finally, we identify how we will live in the year to come, and incorporate those commitments into a Mystic Mandala, and write a little conditions chant to sing all year long.
5. Then we watch in wonder as life unfolds over the next twelve months in ways we could never have predicted or even asked for.

So, of course I want to invite you to join me on November 18 for opening night to harvest 2025 and seed 2026.

I would invite you no matter what year it is. But this year is special.

• It is the first time we get to look back at an entire 9-year cycle that started in 2017.
• After perceiving what these 9 years have really been about, we will harvest the good and release the dross in a special Yoga Nidra event with Emma Kupu Mitchell.
• And then, when we feel ready, we will create a Mandala for 2026, planting seeds for not just one year, but an entire new 9-year cycle.

Notice the numerology. 2026 is a 10 which reduces to a 1.

In Tarot, 10 is the Wheel of Fortune, 1 is the Magician.

The Wheel of Fortune is a very evocative image. Look at it in any card deck or online. My go to resource is The Tarot Handbook by Angeles Arrien. She summarizes 10 as “The principle of opportunity, breakthrough and prosperity.” One sentence that stands out for me is: “Expansion and abundance come with the willingness to change and keep things moving by taking risks and being open to new opportunities.” And on another page, she writes: “It is a year to actively turn your life in new directions…the only thing that could stop the Wheel of Fortune would be to adhere to old patterns of doing things the same way.”

But we can’t stop with the 10 because the 10 reduces to a 1. Emma, our depth numerologist, recorded a bonus video on the 10 and the 1, but here’s just one insight you might relish right now.

In 2022, with nudges from Joan of Arc, five mystics and I created a year-long mystery school. Each month we would meet a mystic witch and receive their medicine. In our ninth gathering we received intense medicine from Our Lady.

During the gatherings, Sabin Bailey, a profound oracle and sage, would ask the witch if they wanted a Tarot card. Our Lady said, yes, and drew 1 the Magician. Sabin then said something that has directed my life and my intensives from that moment on.

Sabin said, “The Magician is the witch card.”

I had not heard that connection before. With Her selection, Our Lady (by any and all her names and faces) sanctified the word witch and restored it to its original meaning of wisdom, power, strength, and healing.

So creating a ONE year, a year of Magic, feels holy and perfect, and oh so necessary.

Magic is the medicine we need right now and for the next nine years to heal our suffering, bleeding world.

Lotus and Lily gathers on 5 Tuesdays at 6pm from mid-November to mid-December with a Thursday watch party at 2p for friends in Europe.

After 3 weeks off to celebrate the Solstice and other holidays, we gather on the 2nd Sunday in January at 2p to bless and share and celebrate our mandalas. Mandalas that welcome the life that wants to be lived in 2026 and throughout the next 9 years.
